Introduction:
With the upcoming Hexfire release i decided to paint some Grey Knights. I also thought this is maybe a good time to figure out some prejudice with metallic colors the community has in mind.
Most miniature painters say that GW metallic colors are bad for painting becuase of there small proportion to metallic pigments and the thickness.
With my ongoing research to what colors i will bench against each other i also find out that there are diffrent primers that will have impact on the result of painting metallic metal. So i decided also to bench the results of a regular primer and a metallic primer. The research also showed up that most of the pro painters that using true metallic metal colors using vallejo or GW colors to paint there models.
This is why i came up to paint 4 models at the end of the day. I needed to paint 2 diffrent color types with 2 diffrent primers.
I marked all the modells at the bottom with a series of letters to define how they will get painted.
Definition of marks
- VM GW – vallejo matt primer, Games Workshop colors
- VG GW – vallejo gloss primer, Games Workshop colors
